Kharafi Global was established in 1993 by founding family members Waleed Al-Kharafi and Haidar Al-Naqeeb to develop and operate food beverage operations in Kuwait and neighboring Gulf countries.
Kharafi Global first entered the sector by franchising the Johnny Rockets original hamburger concept from Los Angeles and in 1995 opened its first restaurant; still exists to this day. The success of the cooperation of Johnny Rockets and Kharafi Global landed further franchise development rights extended to Saudi Arabia, bahrain and
Qatar and the company now operates more than twenty units as well as multiple support delivery kitchens across the region.
The company has since evolved to internally develop its own brands such as 'Nino', a well-known and popular upmarket casual Italian restaurant, 'Baker & Spice' an award winning artisan bakery and restaurant and later ventured further in international franchises and licence agreements such as 'Leila from Lebanon'.
The company has also invested in setting up independent offices around the neighboring Gulf countries to support development of its internal concepts in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar.
To develop and operate multiple food service brands throughout Kuwait and the Gulf region, to create and
evolve our homegrown brands into world class standards, to maintain the highest level of food quality and
service and to lead the market by collaborating with international reputable brands and grow further in
Kuwait and Saudi Arabia through sole ownership and seek growth of worthy internal concepts inside the
MENA region and beyond through licensing and franchising.
